Jaboticaba Sabara (Plinia cauliflora) is a fascinating Brazilian native that produces its fruit directly on the trunk and older branches of the tree. The grape-like fruit offers a sweet, aromatic flavour and is borne in impressively heavy crops — often fruiting up to three times per year. With a rapid ripening period of just 30 days, it rewards growers with frequent harvests. The fruit is also a nutritional powerhouse, rich in vitamins A and C, antioxidants, and dietary fibre.
